Scott Lockert

Scott Lockert brings real-world corporate expertise in management of Natural Resource Damage liability as well as over 15 years of environmental risk transfer and cost quantification experience. Mr. Lockert has served as both an underwriter for AIG Environmental and as the Western US Manager of AIG Consultants where he directed the environmental insurance policy due diligence process for AIG Environmental. Mr. Lockert was an internal specialist for both AIG Environmental and AIG Technical Services (the environmental claims group in AIG) in Natural Resource Damages (NRD) risks and claims. Mr. Lockert is frequently hired by carriers and their attorneys as litigation support for claims under NRD or other environmental statutes. Mr. Lockert is the author of AIG’s internal underwriters and claims analysts training program for NRD.

Mr. Lockert manages budgets in excess of $70 MM for NRD projects and serves as the resource for forecasting NRD related liability nationally and tracking regional trends, including in the groundwater NRD arena. Mr. Lockert began his career as a Hydrogeologist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he specialized in groundwater modeling in support of remediation programs for a division of IT Corporation. Mr. Lockert has authored a variety of internal and external papers related to environmental risks and NRD exposures specifically for corporate presentations and training, and developed programs on topics ranging from Natural Resource Damages Related to Copper Chromium Arsenate, to sediment liability, to a “white paper” prepared for AIG on NRD Banking.

Mr. Lockert has a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Illinois and has additional graduate work in the field of hydrogeology.
