MATTHEW B. ARBUCKLE

Matt Arbuckle is a Public Policy Specialist at EMSNet, where he provides strategic advice on a range of issues, with a particular emphasis on energy policy and environmental compliance issues. He also writes timely, in-depth policy products that offer guidance through a dynamic legislative and regulatory environment.

While at EMSNet he has consulted on a variety of projects involving siting and other regulatory issues relating to critical infrastructure such as power plants, ports and pipelines and greenhouse gas emissions trading. He has also collaborated on a proposal to develop a clean diesel fuel facility in West Virginia, and has participated in related projects involving corn and sugar-based ethanol, and wind-generated energy.

Before joining EMSNet, Matt held public affairs positions with several prominent officials in Colorado. He also worked with the City of Denver to coordinate logistics for special events held in the city. During the US Department of Energy's International Conference on Geologic Repositories, he served as the Event Host Committee's lead coordinator for ground logistics, where he facilitated transportation, interpretation, and volunteer support services. During the Summit of the Eight (G-7), one of the premiere events held in Colorado, he worked with the Mayor's office and city agencies to coordinate event logistics and public outreach.

Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Mary's College of Maryland, and a Masters in Public Administration with a concentration on environmental policy and management from the University of Colorado.
